Leo Clubs

Leo Clubs are part of the Lions Clubs International worldwide service organization and are the official Youth programs of Lions. Beginning in 1957 and becoming established internationally in 1968, Leos follow the same principle and aims as Lions. Leo Clubs are formed and operated under the guidance of a Lions Club and are made up of young people from early teens to late twenties. Most clubs are of a similar age group with both male and female membership. Leo Clubs throughout the world have contributed in many ways to raise funds for the purchase of life saving equipment for hospitals, devices for the disabled and many forms of help to those less fortunate in their communities.
The objective of the Leo Club Program is:
"...to provide the youth of the world (with) an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and international community."

The Leo club motto is:
  • Leadership - Leos develop skills as organizers, time managers and motivators of their peers.
  • Experience - Leos learn the importance of cooperation through community service.
  • Opportunity - Membership provides young people with a chance to excel, to develop positive charatcer traits, and to receive recognition for their contributions to the community.
