Long Time Member of the Haddonfield Lions Passed Away

Lion Floyd Ford, Jr of the Haddonfield Lions Club died on Saturday. He was a Past Zone Chairman, Became a Melvin Jones Fellow on 07/21/1993; and was 5-Member Key Holder; and also served as Trustee on the District 16-C Charitable Foundation.

Ford, Floyd F. Jr, on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Age 84 years. Born May 10, 1926, son of the late Floyd F. Sr. and Gertrude (nee Brownlee). Floyd is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruth (nee Achtermann). Devoted father of Sally, Sandra, Mark and Janet. Dear brother of Dolores and Arlene. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephew and cousins.

Floyd served in the infantry in WWII, he graduated from Haver-ford College and later received his MBA from Temple University. Floyd worked at RCA for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He then owned a series of businesses, most recently working as a consultant.

Floyd was active in the Lions Club, Haddonfield Baptist Church and the Boys Scouts.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Haddonfield Baptist Church, 124 Kings High-way East, Haddonfield, where relatives and friends may visit the family one hour prior.
