Winslow Township Lions Cook For Seniors 12/13/2009
Volunteer Members of the Winslow Township Lions Club prepared a wonderful dinner for community senior citizens this past weekend. More than one hundred people enjoyed a traditional holiday turkey dinner with all of the fixings this past Sunday at the Bud Duble Senior Citizen Center on Cooper Folly Road in Atco, New Jersey. The seniors were cheerfully served their meals by Lions Club Members and their affiliated Winslow Township Leos Club, who are students of the Winslow Township School District. The seniors enjoyed a day of holiday spirit, sang holiday songs, and everyone received gifts as well as a visit from Santa Claus and his Elf.
Treasurer of Winslow Township Lions Club, Hal Wasserman said, "Money we raised throughout the year allows us to meet pressing needs in our community including college scholarships, financial contributions to The Lions Eye Bank of Delaware Valley and the South Jersey Eye Center, and numerous other local projects including the purchase of Christmas gifts for local area children who are in need. Winslow Township Lions members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference in our community."
The Winslow Township Lions Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Francesco's Restaurant on Rt. 73 in Cedar Brook. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
