Pattie Harris of the Atlantic City Bangladesh American Lions Club, was Honored by the Rotary Club of Atlantic City

As part of Rotary's Four Avenues of Service, Pattie received a 2009 Beacon Award for Vocational Service. Rotary's Beacon awards recognize individuals in the Greater Atlantic City region who have demonstrated exemplary service to the community, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others.

Pattie is the executive artistic director and founder of the Atlantic City Dance Theater Center of Cultural Learning, Inc. For 30+ years, Pattie has been in the performing arts. As a choreographer, dance instructor, playwright, performer, vocalist and costume designer, she has studied voice, dance, and professional acting. She has written, directed, produced, and choreographed dozens of musical performances throughout New Jersey.

Pattie's successful career as a professional entertainer includes Broadway plays such as "Hello Dolly" and "Purlie."

Pattie has received 25+professional and civic awards, including induction into the Atlantic County Women's Hall of Fame, and the Paul Aiken Encore Award from the South Jersey Stage Company. She is not only a Lion, but is also on the Board of Directors for numerous professional affiliations.

The dinner was held at the Historic Smithville Inn, Galloway. Bangladesh American President Linda D. Bringhurst and Sight Chairman Bernice Couch were present, joining approximately 150 attendees.
