Camp Happiness Initiates Holiday Fund Drive
12/20/2008

The NJ Blind Citizens Association / Camp Happiness has initiated its 2008 Annual Holiday Season Fund Drive, and needs the help of caring citizens, and the kind members of the Press, to publicize this initiative. We need your help to continue our mission to improve the lives of the blind... please help. Ours is a charity where you can actually visit and see your dollars at work!

The New Jersey Blind Citizens Association (NJBCA), established in 1910, is the oldest philanthropic non-profit organization in service to the blind in New Jersey! We are supported by private donations of any size. Every dollar counts... every donor counts. We need, and welcome, your financial assistance. The NJBCA operates with 501c3 status, enabling private or business donations to be tax deductible.

Did you know that most individuals who face blindness become blind around middle age? Many who come to us explain the deep emotional pain and despair they feel. This is a critical time for help and support, and the NJBCA has been that resource for 98 years.

While medical science can now treat some forms of blindness, most people face this condition without hope of regaining their sight. The isolation and depression can take a heavy toll. A video describing some of our programs to address this can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM47hstFndc, also accessible through our website at www.NJBCA.org.

Just imagine being blind. By 2020, forty million Americans will have eye disease. We want to help. Please give whatever you can. If you have any questions, please call one of our caring staff at 732-291-0878.

Your check can be mailed to NJBCA, 18 Burlington Avenue, Leonardo NJ 07737. A printable donation form is available at www.njbca.org/donationform.pdf.

Please help us help to make the lives of the blind and visually impaired as happy, productive, and healthy as possible. Thank you for your kindness, and have a wonderful holiday season.
